Firefighters for Christ

FFC, which is a faith-based organisation (non-denominational and non-political) was founded on prayer. John White, who started FFC began praying with a firefighter at his station in Los Angeles. Prayer remains just as important today. Weekly, we meet online with people from all over the world to pray for firefighters and their families. Additionally, Chapters and Groups around the world meet regularly (either over coffee and/or breakfast, or online) to encourage and support one another. FFC exists to “Encourage Firefighters To Live Their Lives For Jesus Christ” which is taken from Hebrews 10:24-25. The fire station can feel lonely if you are the only Christian there.

There is also a lot of mental stress which can result in PTSD or even suicide. So with all the stresses and challenges that firefighters face, it is important to support each other and to show the love and compassion that Jesus showed when He was here on earth.
In the UK, we meet as many firefighters as we can in person, to get to know them and encourage them. Regarding the Europe+ Chapter, we meet monthly online (the area extends beyond Europe to Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, and Brazil).
We are excited to have attended the First Responders Weekend Retreat in Hume Lake, California, in March, along with Ambulance, EMS and Police (FFC work closely with these Christian groups at different events). We look forward to travelling to Belfast in June for a leadership meeting and then straight to Moldova to meet firefighters and talk about FFC.
There are other events taking place this year that we plan to be at. We have speaking engagements at many churches around the UK about the work of FFC and the British Firefighter Challenge, which is happening at Watford on Saturday/Sunday, 26/27 July. The Blue Light Conference on 18/19 June at London Olympia and the Emergency Services Show at the NEC on 17/18 September. We will also be at the CVM, The Gathering on June 20-22 and also at David’s Tent on August 22-25.
If you are about at any of these events, please come and say hello.
As well as these activities in the UK, we also support our Chapters in Italy and Australia.
We are excited about what the Lord is doing within the Fire & Rescue Service internationally. So please pray with us for wisdom as we move forward.
