The Christian Ambulance Association (CAA) exists to support ambulance clinicians of all grades, within the NHS Ambulance Services, and in the voluntary or private sector.
Our membership consists of staff of all grades and from all four corners of the United Kingdom. Over the recent years, we’ve had members join in Australia and New Zealand, with a recent trip to California resulting in new memberships in 3 states.
We are split into regions within the UK, and chapters internationally. The sole aim of these regions or chapters is to support ambulance staff on a peer level, with access to chaplaincy a prominent feature of our organisation.
Ambulance staff can face challenges within the workplace in regards to their faith, with some staff having been disciplined for expressing their faith, or the wearing of a cross. Whilst we are not a trade union, nor do we offer legal advice, we do support those staff at a local and national level.
It us important to us that ambulance staff know they are not alone. With the rise of PTSD among ambulance staff, the CAA is uniquely positioned to offer a faith based support mechanism. We are the only sole national provider and facilitator of chaplaincy within the ambulance sector.
We share a platform with so many professional Christians groups, and work especially closely with the blue light services - namely Firefighters for Christ, and the Christian Police Association.
The CAA is a non-denominational organisation. The only ‘entrance requirement’ is a faith in the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ. We are proud of the breadth of churchmanship, doctrine and theology that exists within the CAA, and continue to strive for more cohesive relations between Christians within the ambulance sector.
If the CAA can be of support to you, or for further information, please visit our website www.caauk.org, or contact us through our various social media accounts.
